Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 1 Timothy 4:13

For many people who claim to be Christians, the Bible is not enough. Supposedly, it is not sufficient revelation. It does not give us enough information. These individuals seek additional works of inspiration. Either they want direct revelation from the Holy Spirit, or they want some kind of additional inspired work from God. In a recent Bible study with two gentlemen who claimed to believe in the divine inspiration of both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, one of the men made the statement: "Go... more

The factual accuracy of the Bible The Bible claims to be the inspired Word of God. Therefore, it should be accurate in whatever subject(s) it discusses, since God is not the Author of confusion and contradiction (1 Corinthians 14:33), but of truth (John 17:17). The factual accuracy of the Bible proves that it is accurate. Time and again the Bible’s facts have withstood the test. Examples abound. Numerous passages indicate that Moses wrote the Pentateuch (2 Chronicles 34:14; Ezra 6:18; Ne... more

The Waynai Bible weighs 1,094 pounds and c... more

With this emerging mentality has come a dramatic reduction in both the amount of scripture incorporated into Bible teaching from the pulpit and the extent to which subject matter is derived directly from biblical tex... more

Several NewTestament passages teach the temporary design of the Old Testament system (the Law of Moses), and the fact that the new covenant of Christ superseded the Old (Col. 2:14; Eph. 2:14-15; Gal. 3:23-25; Rom. 7:1-6; Heb. 6:12; 9:15-17). If the Old Testament has been abrogated, why should a person be concerned with studying it? This is a question pondered by many sincere people, and it deserves a response. This caution, however, must be noted. In arguing the temporary status of the Old Test... more

A Hollywood actor was once asked if he had become tired of the same old questions from his fans. His reply was, “I really haven’t, because even if it’s the thousandth time I’ve been asked a question, it’s the first time the person asking it has ever heard the answer.” And so it is with the preaching and teaching of God’s word. No matter how many times this writer preaches or teaches from the Bible, there’s always someone present who hasn’t h... more
